SkySeoul is a project that challenges me to design a comprehensive design system, explore advanced Figma prototyping, and create robust component libraries. Through this work, I’ve also deepened my understanding of Korean culture, blending creativity with functionality to deliver a modern and culturally authentic experience.

Pulse is the heart of SkySeoul's design identity, providing a cohesive framework for building seamless, user-centered digital experiences. Rooted in modern design principles and inspired by the vibrant culture of South Korea, Pulse combines bold aesthetics with practical functionality.

Design Tokens

Pulse design tokens establish a unified foundation for SkySeoul’s visual identity. They define core styles such as colors, typography, spacing, and shadows, ensuring consistency and scalability across all platforms. By bridging design and development, these tokens create a seamless workflow and maintain the vibrant, modern aesthetic of SkySeoul.

Figma Variables

The SkySeoul design system leverages Figma variables—color, boolean, string, and number—to create a dynamic and flexible prototype. Together, these variables enhance both the design system's adaptability and the prototype's interactivity, reflecting SkySeoul's innovative and user-focused approach.4o

Component Library

The SkySeoul component library is a comprehensive collection of reusable, scalable design elements built in Figma. It streamlines the design process by ensuring consistency, efficiency, and flexibility across projects, while supporting the airline's modern and vibrant identity. From buttons to navigation patterns, each component is crafted with precision to enhance the user experience.

Focusing on user-interactions takes precedence over UI. This project was supposed to look clean and polished, but aesthetics weren't the primary function of this project.

A design system follows the needs of your users. Running through version 1 of my prototype, I quickly realized that I would need a way to keep my designs consistent.

Overall, I learned to rapidly iterate and constantly test features, whether that be figma variables working properly, accessibility optimization, or streamlined user flows.
